The Loadmouths - 9/19/97

SEPTEMBER 19th, 1997
THE LOADMOUTHS
THE FORGOTTEN BOYS
& THE HAVE NOTS
21 & Over @ Safari Nite Club

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was looking forward to this show for sometime. The Loadmouths are a Punk-N-Roll band from SF with a female front person. Their CD was in the stereo nonstop from the day I got it until 2 or 3 weeks after the show. Doug and Michelle from Spank helped to bring this to the bar. I think Doug got more fucked up that night then he has in the past 5 years combined.

We (the Have Nots) were first on the bill and it was to be the last 21 and over show. To say that we were out of practice would be an understatement. There are those nights when you hit the stage on fire and it just burns. When you're done you're shaking, your throat is on fire and new wounds are bleeding. This was not one of those nights.

This was the first time for the Forgotten Boys to play down here. When the show was booked they didn't even have a name yet. They're basically the ex-members of Victim's Anonymous. They ripped the stage like straight ahead Suicide City Tornado.

I Love shows like this, all pig fucking R-N-R. The Loudmonths lived up to their name blazing through a straight from the hip set of good old Punk. Not that silly spike bracelet and patches old school crap but the back to basics Rock-N-Roll with a bite that can only be compared to the Humpers. They sped through Saki to Me, Rough House, Rockin At the Rollerderby, Rev it up and go, Creature, and a cover of the Ramones' Loudmouth with us shouting background. Maybe this is why we (the Have Nots) seemed to suck that night, they were just that good.
